As I have mentioned before I have been considering buying a uni or Z palette for sometime but feel they are quite expensive for what they are. Whilst browsing through new posts I came across a post by Makeup Savvy, you can see the post here.
I decided this would be a great way to create a customizable Palette for next to nothing so I gave it a go !
I bought two tins for the eyeshadows/blushes I was depotting and some magnets. This is the first design I got:
This one is for blushers, so far it has one Stila pan and a depotted Natural Collection blush(Dusky Pink) in it. Just as a side note the natural Collection blushers are surprisingly very good !
Its surprisingly easy and I would really recommend depotting single eyeshadows as I have much more room to buy more now :)
To say a huge Thank You to everyone that comments and follows my blog I am holding a giveaway.

Well this month started off really well and I used up quite a lot of products, now coming to the end of the month I've not been as good!
Love this mascara! It both lengthens and adds volume to my lashes, love the wand and formula. I recently purchased the brown version and will let you know what I think of that soon. And of course Carmex was my staple during the winter months!
Two of my favourite products, both will be getting repurchased :)
So overall I have managed to declutter a lot of products and have so much space now, its great !! And I have been quite good at not spending money on unnecessary items although I have slipped a few times (oops!)
Also I'd like to say a big thank you to all new followers/readers!!, expect a giveaway soon :D
I have recently been using this powder as my usual ran out, and I have been pleasantly surprised.
What NYC say : Covers like a foundation with the smooth finish of a powder for a shine free complexion.
It gives good coverage, controls my oily skin and gives even coverage.Personally I like quite a medium to heavy coverage and so this would not work as a foundation for me but over my foundation it gives me a lovely matte finish. It does come with a sponge but I prefer to use a kabuki brush to apply it.
I have used other NYC face products my favourite being the Cream to Powder Foundation which they discontinued :( If anyone know where I can get this please leave a comment !
And as you can see I like it so much I've hit pan (but I should say this has lasted really well, a good few months with using everyday! )
Overall I'd say this gives some of the more expensive drugstore powders a run for their money.
You can pick this up in Superdrgug for around£4/£5
My make up bag is a Me to you one which I got from New Look a few years ago. Its a good size and easy to keep clean
I keep all my everyday make up in this bag, this makes it easy to reach for in the mornings.
I have a No7 make up base which is good at controlling oil but to be honest I mostly only use this in the summer months.
Nivea creme - this is a great moisturiser for under my makeup is soaks into the skin really quickly and doesn't leave a greasy layer behind like some creams.
Natural Collections green concealer- This is a staple in my make up bag as I have quite uneven skin tone and some red area and this is a great base before make up is applied. This works just as well as other brands, more expensive green concealers.
NYC Cover stick- not sure why this is in my make up bag as I don't really use it as I find it a bit drying.
I have two foundations in my make up bag as I tend to alternate between them depending on how I feel that day, the two foundations are Revlon colorstay mineral mousse and Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation.
My concealer at the moment is Rimmel Match Perfection in 010 Ivory. This is really good for covering spots and for the undereye area. It is also marketed as a highligh product but I haven't used it for that so can't really comment.
No7 Blush in 10 Soft Damson- All time favourite blush, Is the perfect colour for pale skin tones, gives a rosey glow and looks natural.
kabuki by bourjous which is surprisingly good as are bourjous eyeshadow brushes.
Next onto eye products..
Eye Lash curler from Body care- cheap and does the job!
No 17 Eyebrow Shaper- great colour and easy to use, come with a handy little brush on the lid. Good quality at an affordable price!
L'Oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black- Love this mascara it makes my eyelashes look very dramatic, although have to admit at first I found the product to wet but after a few weeks it is much better.
AVON Uplifting Mascara- this mascara is ok, quite lengthening but the brush is really hard! I wouldn't repurchase this item I am just trying to use it up
No 17 Waterproof mascara- good waterproof mascara, foruma is quite dry tho and I prefer mascaras with more of a wet formula, again another one I am trying to use up.
And Lastly some misc items
A hair clip, tweezers and a nail file
WOW that was a bit of a long post, well done if you made it to the end !!
Well I have created a twitter account to write some daily rambles and give you a better insight into my life, and hopefully get to know me a little bit better.(can anyone tell me how to add my twitter to the sidebar ? any help appreciated :)
Recently I have seen so many blog posts about the MUA (MAKEUP ACADEMY)Range at superdrug, that I thought I'd show you the items I have in my collection. All items in the MUA range are £1 !!
Onto the items I own...
* Lipstick in shade 4 - this a a lovely baby pink colour * Lipstick in shade 7 - which is quite a bright coral colour on the lips * Eye Dust in Shade 2 - a gorgeous shimmery purple * Eyeshadow in shade 10 - a black shimmery colour
All the above items are very good quality for £1.
Here are the two lipsticks swatched, both are wearable shade and give a good colour pay off. The lipsticks are a glossy finish and don't dry out your lips.
L-R SHADE 4 , SHADE 7
Next I have one eyeshadow and one eye dust, both are quite pigmented which surprised me because of the price. The MUA range seem mostly to make shimmer products so it would be nice to see some matte shadows aswell
and some swatches
Overall I'd say this is a great range which includes a wide range of colours at affordable prices, which provides make up for everyday wear. I will definately be picking up a few more pieces from this range will you ??
Thought I would just do a quick post about this as you'll have seem this type of storage in a thousand other blog posts and videos... its the sephora inspired brush holder only I've used bath crystals to hold up the brushes. This works well for me as it keep the brushes standing up and in order although I am going to top the case up with some more of the bath crystals.
Most of my brushes are from the Costco set of Kirkland brushes, which are great quality that don't shed(I bought mine from ebay), also a few no7 brushes, and other random brushes I've picked up along the way.
Continuing on with how I store my make up and beauty items, I took a couple of pictures of some of my nail polish storage. For ages my nail polishes were stored away in boxes and I felt this way they were " out of sight, out of mind" and so I thought getting a storage rack would mean I would use my polishes more.
Most places sell these racks which are quite expensive and so I kept looking on ebay and finally managed to pick one up at a reasonable price.
This is a nice way to store your polishes but they do collect dust!
Next is a Collection from Nails Inc which came in a nice black box and I just keep them in there
And the rest of my collection is stored in a plastic storage box.Which although I tend to forget there there is a good dust free storage solution.
I am trying not to buy anymore nails polishes for a while but we'll see how long that lasts! :)
I have been given my first blog award by Linsay over at http://smooshkissxx.blogspot.com/
The award requires me to list 7 other bloggers and 7 things about myself so here they are:
http://gh0stparties.blogspot.com/ (sorry I don't know how to link them without writing the url's!!)
And 7 things about me :
* I am a qualified Nursery Nurse but have returned to study * I still live at home with my parents * I love reading beauty blogs and watching ou tube videos so finally started my own blog but would never have the confidence to make videos * I don't like to wear bright colours, i'm more of a neautral girl except when it comes to nail polish anything goes * I like to be organised and tidy * I don't have any pets but I would love a dog * I love candles, especially yankee candles and have recently discovered the tarts which are lovely aswell.
After using the Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo and liking the effect but not the grey hair!it gave my brown hair, I was excited when I heard about the coloured dry Shampoo. I picked this up in Superdrug for £3.05 (for 150ml)which is reasonably priced as a can of this lasts ages as you only need a small amount. It smells really nice and perfectly matches my medium brown coloured hair.
Overall I love this product and this will be something I will repurchase over and over again.
I really love this colour and how it looks on my nails, but it seems to be one a often forget about. Its really easy to apply, has a nice brush so application is easy. and with just two coats its perfect. I also like GOSH's colour range of nailpolishes hey have some unusual shades and I'm still trying to get my hands on Holographic.
